An excitingly colourful, floral, aromatic, yet extremely elegant version of this old type of tea, from which it is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain varietally correct, orchid-scented, tender leaves. Now it is Sweet, strong maofeng with freshly baked bread fragrance, sweet taste and aromas of thyme, oregano and herbs Huangshan Maofeng (黄山毛峰, Yellow Mountain's Flaky Peaks) is a silvery light green, crystal clear, ethereal, floral sweet tea with a hint of smokiness. The variety has been known for 300 years, and the fresh bud and two leaves that sprout from underneath are picked, twisted, lightly roasted and dried. The result of this gentle processing is a refined green tea with an intensive fragrance, spring-like, stimulating and cooling effect. The Huangshan mountain range of Anhui Province is a beautiful area of about 1200 km2, not far from the East China Sea. This lyrical landscape dotted with seventy mountain peaks, has been protected since 1990. DOSAGE & BREWING GUIDELINE A) Traditional way in a gaiwan/clay teapot: 3-5 grams 150 ml water. According to the Gongfucha, it can be infused at 75-80°C, for 30 seconds, 8-10 times. B) Modern brewing in a jug: 5 grams 300-500 ml water. It can be infused at 75-80 C°, for 2 minutes, 2-3 times.
